Life Is About A Test-1st John 2:15 (Don’t Love The World)

The Sunday School Blog

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the World. If any man love the World, the love of the Father is not in him.

Vocabulary

Test – Testis (Latin), a witness to one’s loyalty or beliefs; an examination or trial to reveal truth or value; an event that tries one’s qualities; a set of questions to be answered to meet a standard.

The Sunday School Ministry is made up of three (3) parts – Children, Youths, and Adults. The Children are just learning about Christ and the struggle against the Devil’s Temptations. The Youth are trying to win daily battles in their journey to follow after Jesus. And, the Adults are using their experience and their maturity in Christ to try to stay on the strait and narrow road to Glory. All of these groups are being tested. And all of them must become over comers if they are to pass this life’s test. (Revelations 2:7,11,26).

We all live in a world that is Fallen. Satan or the Devil is

the Head of this Fallen World System (John 12:16-11,31, 14:30). He has power (1 John 5:19) and with that evil power, he can affect people in various ways. Many Believers think, if they are always with the right people (Church), listen to the right music (Gospel), and do the right things (Ministry) that they may be insulated from the power of Satan. The Apostle John tells us differently. He says that we have to guard our inward parts too – our Minds, Hearts, and Spirits. These can be influenced by the Lust of the Flesh, the Lust of the Eyes and the Pride of Life (1 John 2:16). Physical pleasure, craving what you see, and too much care concerning luxury or material things are all tests that we have to pass in our daily walk of life. Jesus gave us a good example in His conflict with Satan in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1-11).

How do we become like Jesus and Pass all of our Tests w

ith Satan? We Love the Lord instead of loving the World. We increase our ministry for the Lord and for others instead of decreasing it (2 Timothy 4:10). Then we work on building our relationships with

with fasting, praising, meditations and prayer. (James 4:4). Next we have a personal revival and we ask God to revive us again so that we can begin again, renewed and re-energized away from any sins or wrong doings that would hamper our witness. (2 Peter 1:4, 1 John 2:15-17).

And Finally, we should Study to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15) so that when false teachers arise in our lives we can know them for what they are and rebuke them and shun them too. Amen.

Conclusion

All Believers must strive to pass the Test of Life. And it starts with Love. We must look forward to each day in every way to please our God in everything that we do. We must set aside time to study, pray and thank God. And, then be with others to talk about, and witness about and confess about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Praise Him!
