Easter Is For Believers
The Acts 12:4 - And when he had apprehended him (Peter), he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of Soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
Vocabulary
Easter – Pascha (Greek), Eastre (Old English), Pesah (Hebrew), An annual Christian Festival holiday in the Spring celebrating the resurrection of Jesus the Christ from the dead.
This year of 2022, We as Believers celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection on April 17th. Yes this

is a different date from last year and next year it will be a different date also. Why is that? The concern occurs with the Hebrew Calendar and the New Moon. All of the months of the Hebrew Calendar were twenty-eight days each. However, we know that a regular calendar has days of 28, 30, or 31 days each. This presented a concern about Holy Days and the New Moon when all Celebration were to start on the same day of the month. So, Easter cannot be about the day on which it is celebrated. The day changes.
The word Easter is mentioned only one time in the Bible. King Herod wanted to execute the Apostle Peter after Easter to please the leaders of the Sanhedrin Council. The word Easter is of Anglo-Saxon origin–Eastra. Eastra was their goddess of the Spring time, in whose honor sacrifices were made to her about the same time as the Jews celebrated the Passover. However, by 800 A.D., Christians had accepted or adapted the name of Easter to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ. So Easter cannot be about its name because the name is not Hebrew or Christian in origin.
What then is Easter about? The Apostle wrote in Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day (holiday), or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath Days; which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Therefore, it is all about Jesus and His Resurrection, His Sacrifice, and our Eternal Life gift! Amen.
Conclusion
Celebrating Easter is a part of the Believers’ Faith journey of Hope. Our Faith is not about particular days we celebrate or which names we celebrate by. Our Faith is based on our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. We must believe that He was born (Matthew 1:18-25); He taught with all knowledge (Colossians 2:3); He preached with power (1 John. 3:8); He did miracles (Matthew 28:18) and He delivered us from Satan and the penalty of Sin (Luke 19:10). Due to Easter, all of our Praises, Prayers, Celebrations, Traditions and Worships are not in vain; But they bring us closer to our Lord in Spirit and in Truth because He Got Up! Believe in, Have Faith in, and Have Assurance in Easter because Easter means He Is Alive and He Has Risen! Praise The Lord!
