Always Give God Thanks

Psalms 92:1-2 - It is good to give thanks to the Lord; And to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High; To declare your lovingkindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night.

Vocabulary

ThanksgivingTowdah (Hebrew), Rucharistia (Greek), a formal public expression of gratitude to God; an annual U.S. holiday observed on the fourth Thursday of November.

November begins our official Holiday celebration Season. Of all the Holidays, many people love Thanksgiving the best. Why? It is a time of celebrations, travelings, vacations, and family gatherings. However, this year economists predict that this Thanksgiving Day Holiday Celebration Meal will be the most costly one on record. Due to gas prices/transportation costs; high costs of turkeys, chickens, ducks and hams; high labor costs to harvest pumpkins, cranberries and other farm items; most families will be hard pressed to provide a Traditional Thanksgiving meal for their tables. Despite this fact, the Psalmist still insists that “It is good to give thanks to the Lord.” Let us see how that is done.

Living A Good Thankful Life

I. Be a good, honest person who does right. – 2 Peter 1:5-8: Know that Jesus is God’s Son and He can provide you with all things.

II. Be obedient to God’s Word. – 1 John 3:23: God gives us quiet confidence by His Holy Spirit to help us overcome all obstacles in our paths to joy in Him.

III. Keep the Faith in the Good News. – 1 John 2:24: Be a part of the True Vine – Jesus the Christ and we will always be a part of a great Harvest. We shall have enough to share.

IV. Always Love the body of Christ – True Believers – John 15:12: Loving others like Christ loved us always pays benefits and we shall receive blessings and favors. Amen.

Yes, It is good to give thanks to God every day and every night and not just on a Specific Holiday. Our God is good (Matthew 19:17) and He is Good all the time. When we stay attached to Jesus the True Vine we can produce much fruit and that fruit glorifies, blesses, shows thanks, and gives Gratefulness to God. For He is the Lord of the Harvest and it is He who has made everything happen. He is Jehovah Jirah – God My Provider. He can provide just what we need! Praise God and Thank Him!
