Back to School Time Is Study Time

Monthly Sunday School Blog

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Vocabulary

Study-Spoudazo (Greek), Hagah (Hebrew), Studere (latin), to weigh out; to consider greatly; to meditate upon; to search out; to hasteu to do; to be eager to do; doing one’s best.

It is the start of another school year. Some are very happy about this; some are sad about it and some are just in different about it. Be that as it may; it’s learning time again! The bible indicates that you reap what you sow (Galations 6:7). This truth applies to Learning also. If you do not want to learn, many years of education will not teach you very much. But on the other hand, if you want to learn, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish.

The book of Proverbs has much to say about good learners becoming good students. And it all begins with becoming wise. To learn well you must love discipline. Discipline to learn to study carefully and often, to accept instructions, to follow directions; to learn and understand advice; to receive honors well and to profit from constructive criticism. Good students are good learners and they are not afraid to study hard, nor to work hard. Hard work leads to successful outcomes. The acronym TOIL is an indication of how to accomplish this.

T - Time on Task - Numbers 14:40-44 - No one gets more than 24 hours in a day. Never procrastinate! Do what is needed in a timely manner.

O-Opportunity – Philippians 1:12-14 - God provides us with many occasions to be blessed and favored in our lives. Let us not waste them

I-Infinite - Inspire, Instruct , Intend – Matt 3:15 In everything that we do ; we should do it with integrity.

L- Labor 2 Timothy 2:15 - Never be afraid to work hard to achieve or to accomplish your goals. Amen!

Conclusion

Attending school is a means to an end. A more fruitful and better life is the expected outcome of a good education. But that is not possible unless Jesus the Christ is also a part of the equation. Jesus Himself said that He had come to give us life and that life more abundantly! In the end, the Lord will examine wh

at kind of workers we have been for Him. We are building on that foundation in school by learning how to study to show ourselves approved unto God! Praise Him!
