A Time for Real Joy Philippians 4:6

Monthly Sunday School Blog

Be careful (anxious) for nothing, but in everything by prayer and Supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.

Joy - Chara (Greek), Gil (Hebrew), to leap, jump, or spin around with pleasure; with gladness; cheerfulness; in triumph; to delight in future good; to know of the prosperity of God’s Kingdom.

Thanksgiving – Towdah (Hebrew), giving kind grateful thought towards; showing gratitude and favor; a formal public expression of gratitude to God.

The Holiday that we in America observe as Thanksgiving is being celebrated this year on Thursday, November 22, 2018. But the Saints of God, Thanksgiving should be more that just a single Holiday to express their gratitude and their gratefulness for God’s Blessings and His Favor.

Thanksgiving for true Believers should be a life style; just like our prayer lives should be our life style also. They should and always go together hand in hand. Due to the Right Relationship (1 John 2:29) all Sai

nts enjoy with the Lord, Thanksgiving is to always go with our prayers and our requests to God. We must thank God always because we must both know and understand that our God hears our prayer’s, but He also does what is excellently good for and by us also. In fact, in Isaiah 65:24 the Lord says “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking (praying), I will hear. The God that we serve is indeed Good! We all can jump for joy about that.

Therefore, We as True Believers must celebrate this Thanksgiving Holiday for its Historical importance and for its Spiritual benefits also. We are grateful to our God for allowing us to not forget our Blessings, Benefits, and Break throughs. We must always thank Him for keeping us humble in His presence and for enabling us to praise and worship and love Him continually.

And, we ask our Father God to shield our Minds, our Hearts, and our Spirits from excess of Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Praise The Lord!
