Happy Father's Day
We all shall be celebrating Father’s Day on June 17, 2018 this year. This is the one day out of the year that our Fathers’ are recognized and are celebrated in the churches. But that is not how our God had intended it for his Male Parents (Fathers).
From the beginning, Fathers were the Natural Leaders of the church (Romans 9:5). God is the Father of all Believers through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Earthly Fathers are to imitate their Heavenly Father by precept and example. Fathers’ were the Heads of their Households (Exodus 6:14). He was the Priest of the Home. And, as a Priest, he has duties. Some of the Father’s duties as a Priest of the family are:
Leading the unsaved to Christ (Ephesians 2:18)
Using his body as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)
Enabling the whole family to make praises and to do good works for the Lord (Hebrews 13:15-16)
And to be the Family leader in doing Deeds of Kindness (Philippians 4:8).
Father’s in right relationship with God have always been important. Is it true in our homes today?
Three Important Needful Things In A Christian Home
The home is the building block of our churches, our neighborhoods, our communities, and our Nation. Our way of Life as a Free, Democratic, and God Fearing People is very dependent on having a great foundation of learning in the homes. God wants the following three components rightly instituted and built up (edited) in each Christian Home:
I. God Must Be First In All Things
Fathers must teach that our God is Eternal (Yahweh); that He is Plural (Elohim) and has three (3) equal parts - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; and God has Unity (One Lord). Each part is very needed to be taught. They represent the basis of our Doctrine.
II. Everyone In The Household Must Respond To God
The total response needed from every member of the Household is to love God with all of their being, their hearts, their souls, and their minds. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
III. Have God’s Biblical Truth Govern The Home
Everyone in a Christian home who is saved has given their lives over to Christ. They belong to him. They will do ministry, sever, and work for others on his behalf. A Father must be a good teacher directly (teach, reteach, review) and indirectly (talking, showing, encouraging God’s Truth is learned and applied; and passed on. The Home is God’s Divine School for us. When our Fathers’ take back their Godly responsibilities as Natural Leaders, we all become Godly Blessed and our Fathers will be recognized and celebrated often and not just once a year at Father’s Day.
Be Blessed In The Lord
