Happy New Year

Beginning Instructions for a Prosperous New Year

1st Thessalonians 5: 21-22

Test everything. Hold on to the good and avoid every kind of evil!

Vocabulary

Instruction – Didaski, Nouthesi (Greek), Musar (Hebrew) means to impart knowledge; to give lessons, to give directions; to show steps; to give warnings, admonitions, resolutions or reproofs; to discipline.

Happy New Year! The new year always seems to bring in thoughts of resolving to do something differently or to do some things better than they were contemplated in the previous year. Many Christian believers resolve to either better themselves; to better the conditions around themselves; or to just accomplish something new and something different in the new year.

The Apostle Paul gives us a very excellent starting point when he say’s “test everything, hold on to the good and avoid every kind of evil!” Let us consider the following trust worthy suggestions for a prosperous new year.

1. Trust in Our Lord Jesus More This Year – Proverbs 3:5

We as believers do not need a new year’s resolution to want all our sins and all of our transgressions wiped away.Jesus our Lord and Savior has already done that (Romans 6:14).What we need in the new year is to entrust all our confidence and all our HOPE in Christ Jesus every day (1st Thessalonians 2:4).

2. Promise to Use God’s Word As Our Authority – Matthew 28:18

God’s word is the truth (John 17:17). Due to this fact, we as believers should always use God’s word as our authority. This new year use God’s authority through his word to saturate every area of our lives.

3. Be a Light and A Salt Source for Christ Matthews 13-14

God wants his children to use their influence to impact the building up of the Body of Christ (The Church). Jesus needs our help to be change agents for God to impact non-believers.

4. Be More Committed to our Local Churches – Matthews 16:18

Every Christian believer needs a home base. It is here, that we all must work as one team to reach, teach and to proclaim the gospel to Jesus Christ to this dying world. Our God does not need super stars; he needs team players (Ephesians 4:16).

5. Help our Sunday School Ministry to Grow and to Mature with Disciples - 2nd Corinthians 4:1

All ministry involves helping others. Our Sunday School Ministry needs more prayers, more bible studying and more help from all concerned so that our new year will be blessed and filled with great ministry!Hallelujah!

Conclusion

The beginning of a new year is an opportune time to look forward and to make helpful suggestions for improvements. But how do we know how much or how well we have improved? We all need some sort of evaluation. Throughout the coming year, and definitely before the next year begins. We should all stop to access where we are in God’s plan for this ministry. Until that time, we Bless you all with God’s speed and with a Happy New Year.
