Mothers are uncles, aunts, grandparents, friends, etc. who has taken on the responsibility of a mother. You are a mother to that child(ren). You are honored equally!

Mother’s Day is more than just a day for cards, chocolate, breakfast in bed, and reservations at crowded restaurants. Mother’s Day is a celebration that finds solid support in biblical principles and commands. While these Bible verses for Mother’s Day may not have any direct references to “Mother’s Day,” you”ll find plenty of teaching on honoring mothers and wives, revering them, and giving them generous love and recognition for the role they play in our lives.

Proverbs 31:10-12

Who could ever find a wife like this one- she is a woman of strength and mighty valor! She’s full of wealth and wisdom, the price paid for her was greater than many jewels. Her husband has entrusted his heart to her, for she brings him the rich spoils of victory. All throughout her life she brings him what is good, and not evil. 

 

2. 1 Peter 3:4

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 

3. Psalm 113:9

God’s grace provides for the barren ones a joyful home with children so that even childless couples find a family. He makes them happy parents surrounded by their pride and joy. That’s the God we praise, so give it all to him! 

Mother’s Day is difficult for some women who may desire to be a mother, but who face the inability to bear children. In this passage, God describes how he gives women great joy, even those who experience the pain of barrenness.
